Also, keep in mind that Boquete is a small, close-knit community and a lot of networking is done by word of mouth. There are individuals providing other personalized therapies, including ozone therapy and Ayahuasca, who do not advertise. Ask around or talk to these known practitioners and you may find some other interesting options.
One caveat is also in order here. You’re on your own when using these non-traditional treatments. There is no governing or oversight agency that licenses these providers. As such, there are no standards of purity or other requirements that they must meet and no guarantees are offered. It is an informal approach, which is understood by those who provide the services and their clients. In fact, many appreciate the more relaxed environment here in Chiriquí, and freedom from what they see as excessive government intrusion. An atmosphere of tolerance and acceptance draws practitioners of alternative healing to Boquete, and I’m glad they’re here.
