Hello, I realize the monetary currency in Ecuador is the US dollar. But what about the electrical currency? Are the electrical outlets the same as in the US and can you use US voltage electrical appliances in Ecuador or do you have to use adaptors for everything and/or re-purchase the appliances. And even if you use an adaptor in the UK for a US TV for the power, A US TV will not work in the UK due to the differences in the transmission system, and vice versa. What about in Ecuador? Are US Televisions usable or not?

Thank you for your help in this answer. I could not see where this had been addressed previously.

No worries, Melette. It’s all the same.

In older buildings you might need a 3:2 prong adapter, that’s about it. Life is good in Ecuador.:)
