Hi: If I’m interested in moving to Equador and supporting myself in the process, are there available jobs (e.g. Teaching English) that would allow me to do so? Where is the best resource on the internationalliving.com site to identify the work opportunities?

    Thanks,

    Mark

Hi Mark, it’s tough to get a legit “job” anywhere overseas… you really need to be on the ground, as you would at home. Do you have a TESL certificate or teaching degree? If so, you might check with some of the private secondary schools in Quito or Guayaquil. Find a list of those at http://www.ibo.org.

In my experience, most people who need to work overseas have enough of a nest egg to support themselves for a year or more, until they find an income-producing niche.

You can start here, though, getting some ideas, by subscribing to this free e-letter from IL: https://internationalliving.com/fund-your-life/
