Getting health insurance before age 60

I will be turning 60 shortly and have type 1 diabetes. To avoid being turned down can I purchase a policy without residence in Ecuador. Do I have to be present in Ecuador to get a policy. Is it true that younger than 60 is the magic age? If I can purchase without being there who would I have to contact?

I don’t think you can purchase a policy without residency or without being in Ecuador. It’s more difficult to get it after age 65.
