My wife would like to bring a Coffee maker that uses special pods called k-cups. She was not sure if this was something that you could purchase in the supermarkets in Ecuador so I thought we might ask you for advice. Should we bring this or would we be better off with a more conventional coffee maker? Thanks

You can buy and adapter (K cup or V cup) that lets you put any coffee you want in them then you can use any coffee you like.  Much less expense, but cannot speak to availability in Ecuador of your favorite K cup pre packaged coffee.  I am still window shopping and have yet to go down myself.

    Best of luck,

    Mike

    Joel,
Just as an afterthought if you decide to take it down and use the adapters you might want to buy 2-4 of the adapters just to cover breakage or loss. Plus having two makes it very quick to make 2 cups of coffee, with no clean up.
    Just a thought
    Mike
