looking for some assistance on move

My wife and I are planning on coming down to PC around 10/23/15 and are looking for a rental in PC to start out with/ 6 months. Would like to find a place in an area that allows us to be involved in the culture, able to walk to restaurant,coffee shops, markets etc.
Also, curious as to how people get around needing to have a return flight back to the states when arriving in PC? My understanding is that you have to have some type of return passage back. We are planning on starting the pensionado process when we get there.

Yes, you do need to show a return itinerary, though we’ve been told most expats simply show a printout of a reservation.
