Marriage and Name Change

We will be applying for a residency permit based on retirement. We have been together for 20+ years but not married so I presume that we will have to get married for my “wife” to be considered a dependent. However, will she have to change her name or can she retain her maiden name?

She can retain her maiden name – my husband and I have different names and that is no problem.
