PANAMA – MAJOR CHANGE TO TOURIST STAY:

Hi everyone, the Panamanian government has just issued a resolution changing the tourist stay guidelines for Panama immigration – starting on October 1st, 2021, tourists from the U.S. & Canada (and other visa-waiver/visa-exempt tourists) may only stay for three months (90 days) at a time. This applies to TOURISTS. If you have the Pensionado, Friendly Nations, or any other residence visa, this change does not affect your right to stay in Panama as long as you want.

As explained here on your Panama Insider website and in my book, Escape to Panama, Panamanian law has always stipulated that the max. tourist stay is 90 days. For the past approximately ten years, immigration has been granting 180-day stays, despite what the law says.

Now the #PRD #NitoCortizo government has decreed that immigration must adhere to the 90-day rule.
