    I know this has been covered before, but I want to upgrade my cell and need a heads up on what service is available. Also, I am budgeting 30-40 dollars per month for home internet service. Is this reasonable or even necessary? Mark

    Hi Mark, in Ecuador you can go with either Claro or Movistar cell service. We have Claro and it’s fine. My experience is that internet will cost about $60 a month. I’m not sure where in Ecuador you are thinking of settling but in general you will find Internet in the larger cities to be less expensive.

    I pay $35/month in Cuenca for good Internet service. There are more expensive plans available if you require fastest speeds.
