The Marchamo is the equivalent of the US state registration issued by the DMV, only muc.h more expensive
This year INS (the govt monopoly insurance co) which issues the Marchamo, screwed up big time.
You need to separate the lower left-hand corner of the form you get from the bank, and stick it to the transparent decal that gets glued to the windshield.
But, STOP! It doesn’t work like last year. In order to be successful with the 2016 marchamo, you need to understand that the transparent plastic with the red trim will be glued to the windshield with the letters “COSTA RICA” facing INWARD !!!
If you don’t understand this you will have to go back to the bank to get a new plastic sheet, and, hopefully, you haven’t ruined your registration.
My representative at the BNCR would not admit that INS had screwed up, but I guess they don’t want to pay for 1.3 million new plastic stickers…
