Renting furnished or or shipping goods in from the states

Hi everyone…now that I have the SS question answered, here’s a new one for consideration: I am alone and would likely be renting; can I presume to find furnished accommodations, or will I have to have furniture shipped in? I’m looking for cheap, one to two bedrooms in Cotocatchi or Cuenca….haven’t decided yet….and what about laundry? I have a washer and dryer now; what will I have to do for clean clothes?

Hi Don,

In most of the popular expat towns you’ll be able to find furnished apartments and houses for rent. Even if for some reason you couldn’t find what you wanted with furniture it would probably be cheaper to buy furnishings for a small place than it would to ship a container down.

Many of the furnished rentals will include a washer and dryer, but if not there are laundry services available. Some of them will even pick up and deliver your clothes to/from your home.
