    When I studied Spanish (briefly) I was taught that it was okay to drop pronouns in conversation.  (“Soy” versus “Yo soy”)  Is this a common practice in Ecuador?  I want to brush up and start good habits now.  Thanks!

    In fact, I think overuse of the pronoun will mark you as a newbie speaker ¡

    If you’re a “newbie speaker,” so will everything else that comes out of your mouth! But at least you’ll be trying—-.
