    Is it safe to take a taxi from the Guayaquil airport late at night ? My daughter and I arrive around 11:30 PM and will need to get to our Hotel Marcelius in Guayaquil We do not speak much Spanish and have the name and address of the hotel written down.

    Taxis at the airport are safe. You buy a ticket from someone and pay them — just as you do in the U.S.. Then the taxi takes you to your hotel.

    If it is an obscure hotel, be sure you have the tel number of the hotel, too, in case the driver needs to call for directions.
