Thieves broke into my garage in Des Moines Iowa, USA,last week, stole lawn equipment and broke down the side door.
    Crime can occur anywhere
So far nothing stolen in home in Cotacachi, so as of this entry Ecuador is safer than the US.

It is a very short flight. Just wondering which airline, if amy, seems to be better at adhering to their departure schedules.

I was unable to use Eisenhower dollars, Susan B dollars, or the new “Presidential ” series “silver” dollars in Ecuador.  They were not accepted. The Sacajawea dollar is excepted without question. I am finding it harder and harder to find Sacajawea dollars at my bank in the US. They are being replaced with the “Presidential” series dollars. I can no longer “order” Sacajawea  dollars at the bank. The last time I tried to us a 2 USD note in Iowa the cashier had to “call” over the manager thinking it was counterfeit. Not sure it would go over well in Ecuador.  I have not tried. USD notes with pictures of Washington, Lincoln, Hamilton  (1,5,10 USD) no problems. I have found Jackson (20USD) maybe a problem. Grant and Franklin (50 and 100 USD notes) need to “break” them at an Ecuadorian bank. You very well may receive Ecuadorian coins as change, as opposed to US coins, maybe this is what is meant by others regarding a shortage of coins.

I have been emailing Terresa regarding her and her husbands condo in Crucita.  The  Condo in Crucita looks very nice. Move in ready. Susan, have you stayed at the condo. What is your opinion of Crucita?

    Thank you

I bought my home in Cotacachi (San Miguel- a gated community) with the help of Micky. She is a very  nice, professional, honest women. You will not go wrong with her. I will  give her an endorsement. But, as Susan says there is no MLS so contact  as many real estate agents as you can.

Come to Ecuador for the quality of life it has to offer; the peace of mind, spirit and body that you hopefully will feel on your visits. The “lower cost of living” is only a perk.

    Thank you Suzan

I have payed $55.00 for a driver out of Quito  to Cotacachi and I was wondering, since the airport is now closer to Cotacachi , what the rate may now be. I was hoping it would be less, 🙂

I contacted Amy Pinoargote regarding property in Salinas for personal use and as a rental income producing property, if she had any. I told her I have a home in Cotacachi which I am currently renting and that my wife and I would be in Cotacachi in June. I also asked her about suggestions on how to get to Salinas from Cotacachi as we have never yet been to the coast. She basically told me when I get to Salinas in June to get in touch with her. I don’t think she was all that helpful or interested.

Hilton Calon quoted $250.00 one way. I thought that was a little (Alot) too much.
