    Suzan, we are thinking of visiting Ecuador (with the intention of possible retirement relocation) and would like to find a beachfront condo for rent for 7-10 days so that we might experience first hand what the weather, culture, accomodations and day to day living challenges will be like. We think the North Coast area is where we would like to start. Any recommendations or suggestions to help us get started?

    Suzan, you have local cell phones. Are they “smart” phones? Does it make sense to purchase a “smart” phone here in the “states” and bring it with us or purchase a phone locally? Advantages, disadvantages?

    For those of you that reside in Ecuador, can you give us an average cost of satelite service (Direct TV) for a medium level package?
