    Hola Jason;
    Si, yo estoy aprendiendo a hablar espanol. I’ve been using a variety of methods including study guides and workbooks that I’ve purchased from bookstores and a few on-line study courses. Right now I am using an Ipod App from BrainScapes. I feel like I’m progressing ‘un poco’. It’s a slow process though. I don’t have anyone to actually speak it with near my home in Canada. When I go to Costa Rica I’m always armed with good intentions to force myself to try to communicate in Spanish but I get intimidated and discouraged pretty quickly when my limited comprehension and exposure to the language makes it really difficult to understand the responses to my questions. Then I just feel like a total poser and revert to english. Oh well….I’ll just keep trying and eventually it will click (hopefully).
    Are you fluent? How did you learn?

    Hey Ken,
    you might consider checking out the Playa Carillo area if having a beautiful safe swimming beach nearby is a priority for you. It is a very accessible community about 5 min south of Playa Samara which has pretty much everything you need for daily living (grocery stores, shops, lots of great restaurants, banks, layers, dentist and even a language school if that’s an issue). There are a lot of expats in the vicinity also. Most importantly, the beach is spectacular and great for swimming! Playa Samara also has a fabulous swimming beach but it is a bit more exposed so it’s better for the surfer crowd. Playa Carillo is protected by a reef so it’s better for swimming. Good Luck on your search!

    I am wondering the same thing as Thomas. There sames to be a lot of contradictory information out there that’s for sure. Do you have any words of wisdom regarding costs to build a swimming pool? I am interested in building a fairly large curvilinear infinity pool in the Carmona area of the Nicoya Peninsula.
